Always give the full name (or two initials with surname) of persons the first time they appear in the body of the text. After referring to an individual by full name, the second reference should be to surname only, e.g., Smith.
A hyphenated last name would be Smith-Jones or Jones-Smith. Its your choice which name comes first. Hyphenating your last name is considered a legal name change meaning you cant drop your spouses name or the hyphen in the future without having to go through a court-ordered name change.
1. Given-names: these are the names given to children by their parents (or, rarely, are changed by the children). 2. Family-names (otherwise known as surnames): these are the names passed down from generation to generation (except in Iceland).
First/given, middle and last/family/surname with John Fitzgerald Kennedy as example.
The given name is also called a first name due to the traditional order of [given name] followed by [family name]. Some people also have a second given name, which is usually placed between the given name and family name. KENNEDY, John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Edward
This is a very common question. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is the best Indian batsman. In his name Sachin is first name Ramesh is middle name and Tendulkar is last name. For you your first name will be Harsha and last name will be Thatigundla.
Ones first name, known as a personal name or given name, is chosen at birth as the individuals personal identifier. It always comes before the family name. The family name, known as a surname or last name, is inherited from ones parents and shared with other members of the individuals immediate family .
When youre asked to mention or write your Name, call/write your first Name first before any other Names and the Name that comes last is presumed to be your last Name/Surname. For example, if youre James and your surname is John, in writing your name, write James John not the other way round.
