okay so Scott asked me to show some techniques for ascending a fixed line so Im gonna show you my favorite technique using gear that we most of us carry on our harnesses on daily basis youre gonna again use your ADC guide or Delta V or similar device to this and youre gonna clip it onto your belay loop in guide mode and feed the rope this is the load strand so load strand goes on top of the break strand here BAM and this is your ATC and guide mode on your belay loop kind of like an Alpine gris-gris its a assisted braking device that you can use to ascend so if youre on lower angle terrain and youve got a fixed rope then you can just kind of bump yourself up as you walk while doing this but if its a little bit steeper or like overhanging vertical like a free hanging rope youre gonna want to put a kick loop on standby while I get my loop off of my harness so I dont usually carry a tip lock but our rad systems have two blocks in them and thats what you could use this for you cou
