hello everyone welcome to my studio and today I thought I would take you through the steps that I follow when I matte and frame a fine art photograph and Im also going to show you some of the tools that I use when I do that so that you can get an idea of the process involved so today Im going to be framing this piece here this is printed on cans on fibre Platini its a kind of a panoramic format the outer dimensions are going to be 15 by 30 and the print size is approximately 24 inches wide by about 9 inches high so that gives me around a 2 in two and a half inch border for my matte so to start you notice that I printed this on a roll this is 36 inches wide and I positioned the print on the paper so that I have about two inches on each side Ill have to cut one end and I just do that instead of centering it so that I only have to cut on one side instead of cutting on both sides but usually I like to leave a nice border so that I can handle the print I can work with it without worryi
