The #NAME error occurs in Excel when the program doesnt recognize something in your formula. The most common cause is a simple misspelling of the function being used. For example, in the image below, the formula has VLOOKUP spelled incorrectly in the first instance (F5), so it produces the #NAME?
Solution: Correct the typo in the syntax and retry the formula. Tip: Instead of manually entering defined names in formulas, you can have Excel do it automatically for you. To do that, go to the Formulas tab, in Defined Names group, click Use in Formula, and then select the defined name you want to add.
How to split names in Excel with Text to Columns Select the column of full names that youd like to separate. Head to the Data tab Data Tools group and click Text to Columns. On the first step of the Convert Text to Columns Wizard, select the Delimited option and click Next.
Go to Insert Header or Footer Blank. Double-click Type here in the header or footer area. Select Picture from File, choose your picture, and select Insert to add the picture. Select Close Header and Footer or Esc to exit.
Open Excel and go to the File tab. Click Options. Click Advanced. Scroll down to the General section and type your new company name in the Company Name box.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Header Footer. Excel displays the worksheet in Page Layout view. To add or edit a header or footer, click the left, center, or right header or footer text box at the top or the bottom of the worksheet page (under Header, or above Footer). Type the new header or footer text.
How do I clean these company names? Step 1 Standardize capitalization. Pick one type of capitalization to follow. Step 2 Remove all non-alphanumeric characters and extra text. Step 3 Remove/standardize full and abbreviated legal entity suffixes.
