hey everybody this is Paul from ortho eval pal but I want to talk to you about today is how to explain to a patient what the ACL ligament does alright so when you do a Lachman test you kind of put that ligament at SLAC okay and then when you do the Lockman you give this kind of an abrupt end point where the ligament is becoming taut okay so the way I explain it to my vision is I take my shirt like this and I say this is your ligament at rest and when I pull the tibia forward we get this kind of a snap snap snapping type of sensation which is what that that ligament is doing when were hitting the end point which is a good thing so when they hear this little snapping and its all knocking when you do that thats a good thing okay so you can explain it to the patient they have a better idea about how the ACL works so what Id like to know from you is how do you explain to your patients what the ACL does and what is the analogy that you use to make them understand it better thanks

The file default ACL is copied to a newly created file as its access ACL. It is also copied to a newly created subdirectory as its file default ACL. The directory default ACL is copied to a newly created subdirectory as both its access ACL and directory default ACL. You can modify or delete inherited ACLs later.
This type of situation is what Linux Access Control Lists (ACLs) were intended to resolve. ACLs allow us to apply a more specific set of permissions to a file or directory without (necessarily) changing the base ownership and permissions. They let us tack on access for other users or groups.
z/OS UNIX System Services Planning ACLs are used in conjunction with permission bits. They are created, modified, and deleted using the setfacl shell command. To display them, use the getfacl shell command. You can also use the ISHELL interface to define and display ACLs.
With ACLs you can grant either read-only access, or read-write access on a directory or file to specific users.
The command syntax format of a standard ACL is access-list access-list-number {permit|deny} {host|source source-wildcard|any}. Standard ACLs compare the source address of the IP packets to the addresses configured in the ACL in order to control traffic.
Check if a file has an ACL by using the ls command. filename specifies the file or directory. In the output, a plus sign (+) to the right of the mode field indicates that the file has an ACL.

On Linux, access control lists are not enabled when you create a new file or directory on your host (except if a parent directory has some ACLs predefined). To see if access control lists are defined for a file or directory, run the ls command and look for a + character at the end of the permission line.
