now that we have Active Directory certificate services installed the next step is to start working with certificate though the certificate templates set up a certificate template and then we make it available and then those are the certificates of people can request from our CA now lets go to tools certification of 40 lets take a look at this a little blow this up here so heres our current CA and here I have my certificates and youll see a handful of these already set up now these are ready and this is fault ready to be issued if you open one of them up lets open up a basic EFS its really not a whole lot you can do with it once the template is in place its pretty much set and then over a stop of that template dont we can right click on certificate templates and put a new certificate template to issue and this shows us all of the their templates that are available that we havent actually used yet so or though we havent enabled yet but we would click on lets say the code signi

On the issuing CA, on the Security tab in the properties for the certificate template, add one or more security groups to grant the user or device accounts Read and Enroll permissions.
Add the Certificate Templates Snap-In Select Start Administrative Tools Server Manager, right click Server Manager and choose Add Features. Open Remote Server Administration Tools Role Administration Tools Active Directory Certificate Services Tools and select Certification Authority Tools.
Drop down your CA details, and locate the folder Certificate Templates. Right click that folder, and select Manage. In the Certificate Templates Console, right click the Web Server certificate template and click Duplicate Template.
Editing a Certificate Template Search for the certificate template that you want to edit. From the search results, click the name of the desired certificate template. Make the desired edits. Click Save or click Save and Add Another if you wish to add an additional new certificate template.
A certificate template defines the policies and rules that a CA uses when a request for a certificate is received. Many built-in templates can be viewed using the Certificate Templates snap-in (see Figure 12.17).
Click File, and then click Add/Remove Snap-in. In the available snap-ins list, click Certificate Templates, and then click Add. Certificate Templates is now located under Console Root in the MMC. Double-click it to view all the available certificate templates.
In the Certification Authority MMC, click Certificate Templates. On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Certificate Template to Issue. The Enable Certificate Templates dialog box opens. In Enable Certificate Templates, click the name of the certificate template that you just configured, and then click OK.
