Biological age refers to the biological status or maturity of an athlete depending on whether they are a pre-adolescent, adolescent, or an adult. Technical training age refers to an athletes technical ability in a given task (e.g. strength training or sport specific).
In terms of strength training, to identify the training age of your athletes, you simply need to determine how many years of strength training experience they have accumulated. For example, you may have a 16 year-old who has accumulated the same amount of training time as an 18 year-old.
More often referred to as simply training age, this is a relatively straightforward classification. Training age purely refers to the total training time/ experience the athlete has in that aspect of physical training i.e. whether its strength training, Olympic Weightlifting, plyometrics, speed and agility (5).
There are aspects of your chronological age, your actual age, that we would factor in. Obviously, no matter how many miles you have on your feet, getting older will slow you down. The recovery process is going to take longer, and the ability to gain fitness and adapt to training will take a lot more time.
Its actually pretty simple: training age is the cumulative amount of time youve spent training for a particular sport. It refers to a cumulative workload (and skill level) built over years and years of consistent running.
(14, 40)Training age is defined as the amount of time accumulated from both periodic and longitudinal participation in training programs and sport related activities that foster the development of musculoskeletal health, basic movement patterns and overall physical fitness.
How to calculate your fitness age Step 1 AGE - Enter your chronological age into a calculator. Step 2 EXERCISE FREQUENCY - Subtract the number of days each week that you exercise for at least 30 minutes at a low to moderate intensity (where your heart rate is elevated)
The other two questions are marginally useful in determining your Experience Level, but it still isnt quite enough to figure out your Training Age. Whats the difference? Training Age: the length of time you have been training consistently. Experience Level: Having done this thing before.
