hello this video is going to be about updating Library copies so first youll go to the catalog tab and then on the left update copies uh to individual update and then youll see three fields that you can change to set the criteria that you want to change in the catalog the only options are supplication category and circulation type so you can choose any of these or you can choose a combination of them once you use one youll notice that the other two disappear until you change it back and once you do that you can interchange it it really doesnt matter which way you do it so for categories I have my display books all in the copy categories that makes it easy for me to pull a list of these and send it to my volunteers to pull those books for changing out displays four circulation type I had to do this one today um which inspired the video so I had a bunch of teacher resources new bookworms books and um unfortunately I forgot to change their circulation type from the default book to tea

card catalog: An organized index to library materials consisting of cabinets filled with cards that describe and locate materials in the library. A typical card catalog would list items by author, title, and subject or might combine all three into one alphabetically arranged system.
Author catalogues can be used to find materials by a particular author, to learn more about an authors work, and to compare different editions of the same work.
It saves the library money because it cuts down on the time the catalogers need to catalog each item, so the library does not spend as much money on cataloging hours as it would if they had to do all original copying.
One of the main advantages of a title catalogue is that it provides access to materials based on their exact title, which can be especially useful when users have limited information about a work or are searching for a specific edition of a work.
Copy Cataloging is the process of building upon original cataloging. It involves matching an established bibligraphic record, examples are the OCLC WorldCat Catalog or Library of Congress Catalog which hold millions of catalog MARC records, with an exact duplicate item described to be added into a collection.
: a library catalog in which books and other works are listed only under their titles usually arranged alphabetically compare author catalog.
A catalogue is a list of things exhibited, articles for sale, school courses offered, etc., usually with descriptive comments and often illustration. A library catalogue serves the same purpose. It is a file of records for a librarys collection (List 1998, cited by Ojedokun 2007).
When exact matching copy is found in the local catalog, in a bibliographic utility, or in another source, the decision is clear; copy cataloging is completed. When no copy matching the item in hand exactly or closely is found, an original record is created.
