hello and welcome to my channel and in this video were going to be talking about the pre-copy script in data factory so if you havent seen my first video on data factory where i showed you how you could create a your very first pipeline i will have a link to that in the top right hand corner so feel free to go and check that out now this is actually a very simple pipeline its just copying data from data lake storage into an usual sql database so ive got my link services and data sets already set up so if i just show a preview of that data theres only three columns and three rows of data as well so its just a small amount of data im using in this example and thats simply going to be mapped to a database so its just simply going to be copying the data from a file into the database so if i go ahead and just trigger this now so im just going to trigger a first run that should just take a couple of seconds to complete okay that pipelines succeeded so if i jump over to sql server

Copy a table and paste it in a new location In Print Layout view, rest the pointer on the table until the table move handle. appears. Click the table move handle to select the table. Do one of the following: Place the cursor where you want the new table. Press CTRL+V to paste the table in the new location.
Right-click the table you wish to duplicate, point to Script Table as, then point to CREATE to, and then select New Query Editor Window. Change the name of the table. Remove any columns that are not needed in the new table. Select Execute to create the new table.
Open the database in SQL Management Studio. Right-click on the table that you want to duplicate. Select Script Table as - Create to - New Query Editor Window. This will generate a script to recreate the table in a new query window.
Copy a table from one database to another. In MySQL, the easiest way to copy a table with its data between two databases is to use the CREATE TABLE AS statement, but note, that you need to provide the target database name as a table prefix. CREATE TABLE new-database-name. new-table-name AS SELECT * FROM old-database.
The first method is called Simple Cloning and as its name implies it create a table from another table without taking into account any column attributes and indexes. Use SQL Server Management Studio Select the columns in the existing table and, from the Edit menu, select Copy. Switch back to the new table and select the first row. From the Edit menu, select Paste.
To copy the table, press CTRL+C. To cut the table, press CTRL+X.
The INSERT INTO SELECT statement copies data from one table and inserts it into another table. The INSERT INTO SELECT statement requires that the data types in source and target tables match. Note: The existing records in the target table are unaffected.
