APA table format Table number in bold above the table. Brief title, in italics and title case, below the table number. No vertical lines. Horizontal lines only where necessary for clarity. Clear, concise labels for column and row headings. Numbers consistently formatted (e.g. with the same number of decimal places).
A reference within the text to a table, graph, diagram, etc. taken from a source should include the author, date and page number in brackets to enable the reader to identify the data. If you have already named the author in the text, only the publication year and page number needs to be mentioned in brackets.
All figures and tables must be mentioned in the text (a callout) by their number. Do not refer to the table/figure using either the table above or the figure below. Assign table/figure # in the order as it appears, numbered consecutively, in your paper - not the figure # assigned to it in its original resource.
If you have copied a table, figure or other graphic from another source, you must indicate the source in a note that is attached to that item. The APA style says you need to include Reprinted from or Adapted from followed by the title of the book or article and complete source information.
State if material is reprinted or adapteduse From if reprinted or Adapted from if adapted. Followed directly by the copyright attributionthis is basically the same information as found in the reference list entry but in a different order. Separate figure/table from the text with one blank double-spaced line.
Tables and figures taken from other sources are numbered and presented in the same format as your other tables and figures. Refer to them as Table 1, Figure 3, etc., but include an in-text citation after you mention them to acknowledge the source. In-text citation example The results in Table 1 (Ajzen, 1991, p.
The in-text citation for the source of a table should be put underneath the table with the format - Note. Explanitary note (author, date). If you do not have an explanitory note, use Note. Sourced from Author (date).
