Are scanned signatures legally binding? Scanned signatures are not legally valid. This is because its impossible to prove both the identity and the intent of the signer. Think about it: anyone with access to any document containing your handwritten signature could simply scan it.
To add a digital signature, open your Microsoft Word document and click where youd like to add your signature line. From the Word ribbon, select the Insert tab and then click Signature Line in the Text group. A Signature Setup pop-up box appears. Enter your information in the text fields and click OK.
Using a Copier Sign a blank sheet of copy paper. Use the copier in your department to scan the page. Make sure you set the file type to JPG. Save the file to a location where it will be easily accessible. Using an app of your choosing, crop the scanned image to remove excess white space.
You need a scanner to do this. Write your signature on a piece of paper. Scan the page and save it on your computer in a common file format: .BMP, .GIF, .JPG, or .PNG. On the Insert tab, select Pictures Picture from File. Browse to the picture you want to insert, select it, and then select Insert.
A signed agreement is a legally binding document in which two or more parties have agreed to specific terms, conditions, or obligations and have formally indicated their consent by signing the document.
Use the mouse to select the signature you want to copy. Right-click on the selected signature and choose Copy. Open the Word document where you want to insert the signature. Place the cursor where you want the signature to appear.
