The first method for sharing the secret among different namespaces is by simply creating the same secret on different namespaces. In other words, we run the kubectl apply command on our Secret manifest file for all the namespaces where we want the Secret to be available.
Back up Go to the Azure portal. Select your key vault. Go to the object (secret, key, or certificate) you want to back up. Select the object. Select Download Backup. Select Download. Store the encrypted blob in a secure location.
For seprate clusters you need to save the secret to file. Then copy the secret to where youre authenticated on the other cluster and apply. Confirm the secret has been created.
Namespaces are a way to divide cluster resources between multiple users (via resource quota). It is not necessary to use multiple namespaces to separate slightly different resources, such as different versions of the same software: use labels to distinguish resources within the same namespace.
See Also kubectl create - Create a resource from a file or from stdin. kubectl create secret docker-registry - Create a secret for use with a Docker registry. kubectl create secret generic - Create a secret from a local file, directory, or literal value. kubectl create secret tls - Create a TLS secret.
So to answer your question: each Pod A will only talk to its local Pod B. For a Pod A in one namespace to docHub a Pod B in another namespace, you will need to use the fqdn of the service in ns2 which would be something like: . . svc.
By default, the kubectl command-line tool interacts with the default namespace. If you want to use a different namespace, you can pass kubectl the --namespace flag. For example, kubectl --namespace=mystuff references objects in the mystuff namespace.
Secrets can be added into a service/container under the Secrets tab during service/container creation. Select Add Secret. The list of available secrets that have been created in Rancher is available in a drop down. (Optional) Input a different filename for the secrets file.
