The main advantage of shooting in RAW is that you end up with high-quality files to edit into the best possible image. Capturing and storing all the details that pass through your camera's sensors means RAW files contain a wider dynamic range and far greater color spectrum than JPEGs.
You can still edit JPEG and TIFF images in Camera Raw, but you will be editing pixels that were already processed by the camera. Camera raw files always contain the original, unprocessed pixels from the camera. To shoot camera raw images, you must set your camera to save files in its own camera raw file format.
Go to Creative Cloud > Files. Then select Creative Cloud Sync....Turn on file sync Open the Creative Cloud desktop app. ... Select the Cloud activity icon in the upper right. ... If syncing is paused, select the resume button to enable it.
It's because when you shoot in JPEG mode, your camera applies sharpening, contrast, color saturation, and all sorts of little tweaks to create a fully processed, good-looking final image.
Editing raw files is a two-stage process because raw files must first be converted into an editable format (either JpeG or TIFF), zo raw file shooters must make sure any raw conversion software or image-editing application they buy supports the raw images from the camera(s) they plan to use.
With the image open in Photoshop click the Filter menu where you'll see the “Camera Raw Filter…” option near to the top. Click this to open the image in Adobe Camera Raw.
When you click that synchronize button, a dialog will appear that enables you to select the specific adjustments you want to synchronize to the other selected images. Turn on the checkboxes for those adjustments you want to synchronize or click the Check All button if you want to apply all adjustments.
The short answer is: yes. Converting a RAW file to JPEG affects the quality of the image itself. The only thing that changes is the format - raw files are typically converted to JPEGs so they can be viewed on devices like computers, phones, and cameras.
Raw has more options for correcting exposure issues With a JPEG, white balance is applied by the camera, and there are fewer options to modify it in post-processing. With a raw file, you have complete control over white balance when editing the image. Lost detail in overexposed highlights cannot be recovered in a JPEG.
PRO TIP: When opening Photoshop, you may receive a warning that the Camera Raw filter is not enabled. This filter is necessary for opening raw image files in Photoshop. To enable the Camera Raw filter, go to the Filter button at the top menu, and there you can select the “Camera Raw Filter” option.
