welcome to code with kurt the channel that brings you the latest google sheets and google apps script videos in todays video im going to show you how i use the simple google apps script trigger of on selection change to copy rows from one sheet to another so in this example im going to use the on selected on selection change trigger to mark a row using this column f so if i click in this cell its going to mark this row with an x click that one with an x click that with an x and then that one as well so i got these four rows marked and next ill hit my custom copy rows and whats going to do is going to take the ones that are marked with an x and move them over to my copy sheet table over here so this is a way that if youre going to go through say you have a thousand rows of data that you have to go through and look through each one and mark and then you can come up here and copy into a sheet you can actually have more than one function up here say you want to copy rows into this

Select the cells you want to copy. Press Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac) on your keyboard to copy the cells. Select the cell or cells where you want to paste the cells. The copied cells will now have a box around them.
Copy rows from one sheet to another Press and hold the Shift key (select a range of rows) or Ctrl key (select disparate rows), and select the row numbers on the left side of the sheet grid. Right-click the highlighted selection. In the row menu, choose Copy to Another Sheet.
Select the row or column that you want to move or copy. or press Ctrl+C. Select the upper-left cell of the paste area. , and then click Paste Special.
To quickly copy an existing format on your sheet to other cells, use the Format Painter tool: Select the cells that contain your desired format. Click Format Painter . Heres how: Select all the data in the worksheet. Keyboard shortcut: Press CTRL+Spacebar, on the keyboard, and then press Shift+Spacebar. Copy all the data on the sheet by pressing CTRL+C. Click the plus sign to add a new blank worksheet. Click the first cell in the new sheet and press CTRL+V to paste the data.
Select the row or column that you want to move or copy. Select the upper-left cell of the paste area. Tip: To move or copy a selection to a different worksheet or workbook, click another worksheet tab or switch to another workbook, and then select the upper-left cell of the paste area.
Copy and paste between Smartsheet and other programs Right-click menu commands (copy and paste) dont always function as expected when you switch between different applications. If youve copied a multi-line cell in Excel or other programs, double-click the cell in Smartsheet before pasting it.
