we asked a group of people to name their favorite color and we listed all those colors on a worksheet in excel now wed like to create a list of the unique colors that were named as favorites were going to use a filter to do that to start select a cell in the list and on the ribbon go to the data tab and click advanced in the filter section we want to create the list in a separate column so well click copy to another location the list range was automatically selected for us and we want to copy it into h1 so well click there and we want just each record once so were going to click unique records only and click ok and theres our list
