Everyone in this video were gonna be talking about something a bit more technical were gonna be talking about how the import and catalog functions work together in Zoner Photo Studio X. And specifically were gonna be talking about how to use the catalog take advantage of it, when importing your photos into Zoner Photo Studio X. So, lets get started. All right so something to keep in mind is that you can use import without needing to use the catalog function and you can also use the catalog functions without using the import. Its standard philosophy here at Zoner Photo Studio X that the software is created to cater to your needs not the other way around so you can create your workflow based on what you need and what suits you best, without needing to do exactly what the software wants you to do. So before importing photos, you need to look at your catalog structure. By default you have 1 folder in your catalog, which is the pictures folder. And you can add other folders

After clicking on Copy, go to the location you want to move your catalog and files in. Right-click and select Paste. Wait until the transfer is over. It might take some time if you have large photo library.
Missing photos can happen as a result of unplugging an external drive that was the source for the photos or if the drive mount point (Mac) or the drive letter (Windows) has changed. For these issues the solution is simple plug the external hard drive back in and/or switch back to the drive letter Lightroom expects.
To move an image within the Catalog itself (managed) from an external location (referenced), simply select the images you wish to move and then drag and drop them onto the Catalog icon (also in the Folders Tool). The image will be physically moved inside the Catalog from the external location.
The Catalog is where all the information about images imported into Lightroom lives. Folders are where the image files live. Folders are not saved inside of Lightroom, but are stored somewhere on an internal or external hard drive.
Choose File Import From Another Catalog and navigate to the catalog that contains the photos you want to add from. Then, click Open (Windows) or Choose (macOS). In the Import From Catalog dialog box: Under Catalog Contents, select the folders that contain the photos you want to import.
Find photos using the Text filter In the Library module, select a source in the Catalog, Folders, or Collections panel. In the Library Filter bar, select Text. Choose fields to search from the Any Searchable Field pop-up menu. Choose a search rule from the Contains All pop-up menu. Type the text in the search box.
Drag the photo or photos to the destination folder in the Folders panel: Drag from the center of the thumbnail, not from the edge. Note: You cannot copy photos in Lightroom Classic. The photos are moved to the destination folder in Lightroom Classic as well as on the hard drive.
