Now you might be wondering, well, hey, I could just use the camera app on my phone to take a picture of the document and that works fine. For example, here I am on my iPhone and I have this document and I can go ahead and lets take a quick picture of it. The thing though is its not the best quality for a scan and there are some apps out there that can take much better photos of documents. Direct import in Excel Open the Excel spreadsheet. Select the tab Data Get data From file From PDF. Select the PDF file and select Import. Then you will see a Navigator panel with the tables and pages in your PDF, along with a preview. Select the table and click on Load. The table is imported to the Excel sheet.
You have two basic options for extracting data from PDF documents: manually refining data and automated data extraction. Automated extraction is faster, but manually copying and pasting the information can be an efficient option if you only have a few documents.
Part 1: How to Extract Data from PDF on Desktop Once the PDF form is open in the program, click on the Form Extra Data button, and then select the Extract Data option. A new dialogue window will appear. You can then select the option of Extract data from form fields in PDF . Then click Apply to proceed.
In Acrobat, open the completed form file. In the right hand pane, choose More Export Data. In the Export Form Data As dialog box, select the format in which you want to save the form data (FDF, XFDF, XML, or TXT). Then select a location and filename, and click Save.
Here are some other options you can explore to retrieve text from a secured PDF: Upload the PDF to Google Drive and convert it to a Word document to remove the security features and copy your text. Use a Snapshot tool that can read the text from the image and convert it to a copyable text format.
If your PDF file is the fillable form, you can click the Form Extract Data button, then select the option of Extract data from form fields in PDF and click the Apply button.
Open the PDF in Acrobat, and then do one of the following: Choose Tools Redact. On the Edit menu, choose Redact Text Images. Select the text or image in a PDF, right-click, and select Redact. Select the text or image in a PDF, choose Redact in the floating context-menu.
Remove personal information for a PDF Right click the PDF, select Open with and then Google Chrome. Select the printing symbol in the upper right corner of the tab that opened in Google Chrome. Set Destination to Save as PDF and click Save. The PDF that you now saved will not contain any personal information.
