To create a spreadsheet with a repeating date: Enter the date out in the desired cell that will begin your sequence. in the next cell below/to the right enter =cell that contains the date to be repeated. After this is done, hit enter, click the cell and drag the cell down from the bottom right.
Use autofill to complete a series In a column or row, enter text, numbers, or dates in at least two cells next to each other. Highlight the cells. Youll see a small blue box in the lower right corner. Drag the blue box any number of cells down or across.
Copy the SAME date to multiple cell (Method 1) entered the date 1 Jan 2024 in cell A4. Clicked and dragged down on the bottom right fill handle (dates add 1 day but dont worry about this) Let go and clicked on CTRL + D.
You can also take advantage of the Paste Options dialog to format the date yourself. Click the cell into which you want to paste the date. Press Ctrl-1 on your keyboard to load the Format Cells dialog. Copy the date from its source location or application. Click the cell into which you want to paste the date.
Select the cell with the formatting you want to copy. Select Home Format Painter. Drag to select the cell or range you want to apply the formatting to. Release the mouse button and the formatting should now be applied.
Insert the same data into multiple cells using Ctrl+Enter Select all the blank cells in a column. Press F2 to edit the last selected cell and type some data: it can be text, a number, or a formula (e.g. unknown) Press Ctrl+Enter instead of Enter. All the selected cells will be filled with the data that you typed.
Press Ctrl+H to open the Find and Replace dialog box. In the Find what field, enter [Date]. This will tell Excel to search for all cells that contain date values. In the Replace with field, enter the desired date format, in this case dd-mmm-yy.
Copy Same Date Down a Column in Excel Move to the bottom right corner of the cell to see the Fill Handle (a small square). Drag the Fill Handle down the column to extend the date to the necessary cells. To maintain the same date, after dragging, choose Copy Cells from the Autofill Options menu.
