Heres a few reasons why the copy paper market is so volatile: Paper mills have closed or scaled production. Some mills converted production to corrugate box manufacturing. There has been an increase in pulp prices.
While inkjet and laser printer paper types are not interchangeable, you can use multipurpose or copy paper in either printer without issue. However, because multipurpose and copy paper are quite thin, using inkjet or laser printer paper will give you the best results for printing images.
It should be safe to put any paper based material in a laser printer. You will want to stick with standard paper sizes (letter, legal, etc)
Laser paper is specifically designed for laser printers, offering higher durability, smoother surface, and optimal print quality. Copy paper, on the other hand, is more versatile and suitable for general printing and copying tasks across different printer types.
Laser Printer Paper is specifically designed for exacting performance and reliability in laser printers only. Laser compatible papers are essential for optimum results. Many types of uncoated papers will function sufficiently in laser printers such as copy paper, inkjet paper, or other multi-use paper products.
Inkjet photo papers are not designed to take a high heat and the coating used on this paper could contaminate a laser printer. Because of the simpler paper path in inkjet printers, paper for these are often much heavier than those available for laser printers and would not feed well in them.
Copy paper: This is a type of plain white paper that is commonly used in printers, photocopiers, and fax machines. Bond paper: This paper is thicker and more durable than copy paper, making it ideal for letterheads, resumes, and other business documents.
