landlords do you know when your rent is considered late from conversation with many of you I dont think you all do theres a concept out there that because your lease describes the date on which late fees can be applied that there are some kind of grace period between the due date which is usually the first day of the month and that date when late fees can accrue but if you read your carefully most leases state that renters due on or before the first day of each month in advance and that non-payment after the first day is considered late if thats the case for you there is no extension of time just because late fees miter crew doesnt necessarily mean you have to accept those fees if its not paid after the first you can reject rent and begin the eviction process
