You cant copy an encrypted AMI that was shared with you from another account. Instead, if the underlying snapshot and encryption key were shared with you, you can copy the snapshot while re-encrypting it with a key of your own. You own the copied snapshot and can register it as a new AMI.
Copy files from one EC2 to another EC2 instance Step 1: Upload the SSH key of the EC2 instance. I am assuming that you are copying files from EC2 instance A to EC2 instance B. Its not possible to transfer existing instances or AMIs between AWS accounts. Instead, you can manually migrate an EC2 image from one AWS account to another.
The replication instance must be able to access the data in the source VPC. If neither your source or target database is in a VPC, choose a VPC where the replication instance is to be located. Choose the replication subnet group in your selected VPC where you want the replication instance to be created.

Depending on the size of the volumes, it can take several minutes for the AMI-creation process to complete (sometimes up to 24 hours). You may find it more efficient to create snapshots of your volumes prior to creating your AMI.
Launching the instance from the snapshot is an easy process. You can create a snapshots everyday as the part of your backup process. It is possible that one day you might want to restore your instance from the snapshot incase of a corrupted Operating System or you want to revert back from an unwanted change.
Your answer Go to EC2 console and note down IP and security ID of both the linux instances. Select any one instance and open network and security option. Select your instances security group and click on edit. In the next popup window click on Add Rule button.
To create an AMI from a snapshot using the console In the navigation pane, under Elastic Block Store, choose Snapshots. Choose the snapshot and choose Actions, Create Image. In the Create Image from EBS Snapshot dialog box, complete the fields to create your AMI, then choose Create.
