Your packet should include: Your resume. An official copy of your high school academic information. An official copy of your ACT or SAT scores. Three pictures - typically a headshot, a full body pose and a three-quarter pose. Your recommendation letter or letters.
WHAT IS A RECRUITMENT PACKET? A Recruitment Information Packet, also known as a Recommendation Packet or Sorority Packet, is a compilation of all the information an alumna of a sorority needs in order to write a Letter of Recommendation for a Potential New Member (thats you!).
Recruitment packets are additional information an alumna sends to the sorority. This information helps the sorority get to know you beyond your recommendation letter. They can read your social resume, see your ACT scores, view pictures of you, etc. Editable and customizable social resume templates.
Rounds. Generally, most sororities do recruitment in four rounds: open house, house tours, skit/philanthropy, and preference. Some sororities may only have three rounds if the sorority doesnt have a house.
Dirty rush refers to sororities or fraternities engaging in prohibited activities when recruiting new members. These include hazing, sending or receiving gifts, spreading rumors, and other university-banned activities.
Keep An Open Mind Ask your [recruitment counselor] before entering your first chapter facility what to expect. Dont listen to anything youve heard about any of the chapters on your campus. It all happens for a reason. Be open to learning. Dont be nervous to ask real questions.
Recs serve as letters of introduction for you to the houses. Panhellenic will tell you that you just need one rec per house, because of National Chapter policies. This doesnt mean you only need 1 rec!
If you need to write a sorority recommendation letter, ask the applicant for background information on their previous accomplishments and reasons for wishing to join. Weave this information into a formal letter along with notes on your connection to the applicant and positive impressions you have of her.
