For a beginner lifter, a 315 lbs deadlift could be extremely impressive. For an experienced lifter, it might be considered moderate. And for a competitive powerlifter, it might be on the lower end. Its important to remember that everyones strength journey is different.
Thats an incredibly impressive amount of weight, which is why hefting it is such an honored strength standard. But if you think its beyond your capabilities, youre wrong. With the right training plan and enough dedication, just about any man can achieve it at just about any age.
A 1200 pound 3-lift total (bench press, squats and deadlifts) is more than 95% of gym rats will ever accomplish. A 1500 pound 3-lift total is a huge accomplishment, and will be hard to beat at most local, natural powerlifting meets.
The Dots Score is simply a ratio between a lifters body weight and the weight theyre lifting. Higher numbers are better. Also referred to as a coefficient, the dots score allows us to compare a lifters strength relative to their body weight.
With time and work you should still be able to get to squat 400 lbs, bench 275 lbs, and deadlift 450. Decent: you like lifting and put on muscle at about an average rate, and can spend a few years tweaking your lifts and workouts to get better. Squat: 450, bench: 305, deadlift: 520.
The START command allows you to initiate the descent of the bar. The PRESS command permits you to press the weight up, and lastly, the RACK command allows you to rack the weight on the combo rack. Especially with newer lifters, skipping any of these is a common source of red lights.
PR simply means Personal Record in weightlifting terms. The personal record is your heaviest weight lifted for a particular lift usually something like Bench, Squat or Deadlift.
