Here are some ways that you can format your resume: Keep your resume one to two pages long. Recruiters have multiple resumes to review, so ensure that yours is quick and easy to read. Have clear sections. Use a simple font to read. Add a bit of colour. Save your resume in PDF format.
When formatting numbers and statistics on your resume, its important to make them clear, consistent, and easy to read. Use numerals instead of words for numbers greater than nine, decimals or fractions instead of percentages for numbers less than one, and commas or spaces to separate thousands, millions, or billions.
When expressing numbers, write out all numbers between one and nine (i.e., one, five, seven), but use numerals for all numbers 10 and above (i.e., 10, 25, 108). If you begin a sentence with a numeral, spell out that numeral (i.e., Eleven service awards won while employed.).
1. Typos and Grammatical Errors. Yes, we know, its probably the most obvious of all resume tips: It needs to be grammatically perfect. If your resume isnt, employers will read between the lines and draw not-so-flattering conclusions about you, like, This person cant write, or, This person obviously doesnt care.
Using numbers in your resume can make it stand out to a hiring manager by showing you have verifiable accomplishments. Quantifying your abilities through numbers in your resume shows a future employer you can add value to their goals if they hire you.
They quantify each of your accountabilities and achievements, and therefore add credibility to your experience. Numbers do not only apply to revenue increases, as many people assume. You can include numbers for a full multitude of points on a resume: # of clients acquired in a given period of time.
Write your full name in a bold font at the top of your resume. Make sure its legible, in a simple, professional typeface to help make a positive first impression on the hiring manager. Include your phone number after your name. Write your email address under your name after listing your phone number.
Research has shown that including numbers on your rsum can increase your chances of landing an interview by as much as 40%. As such, you need to leverage metrics throughout your application to demonstrate your key skills and achievements.
