Hey everyone this is Self Made Millennial, Im Madeline Mann. Today Im going to give you resume tips on how to tweak it to make sure it passes through a companys automated resume scanning software. Ill tell you how to figure out which keywords to put on your resume, how many times you should put them on your resume, where you should put them, so that these resume scanning robots will pass your resume along to actual human eyes so you can get the interview. This is a highly requested video by you viewers so thats why I am doing it, because I am here to serve you. What many job seekers dont realize is that up to 75 percent of resumes are rejected before a human even ever sees them, and thats because basically all companies use an applicant tracking system or an ATS, which is a way for them to organize all the resumes that come in, but some of these companies use the ATS to actually scan the resume and move those along to the recruiters which they think meet certain qualifications.

A strong Freelance Copywriter resume should emphasize their ability to create compelling content that drives results, showcasing specific metrics from past projects. Highlight experience in various industries and formats, such as B2B SaaS, e-commerce, and print ads, to demonstrate versatility.
You should always include a phone number on your resume. But why? Simply put, recruiters will be expecting to see a phone number on your resume. If you exclude it you might be overlooked.
No, you are not supposed to put references on a resume Instead, focus on providing the details that will convince a recruiter or hiring manager to contact you for an interview. Remember, your cover letter and resume are designed to get you the interview.
You dont always need to use abbreviations on your resume! In particular, dont abbreviate numbers when it lessens the impact of what youre trying to say. This means you should avoid abbreviating numbers in the low thousands for example, its better to use 1600 than 1.6K.
Typically, including a reference list in your CV isnt a necessity, but it can be effective for impressing employers and adding credibility to your qualifications and experience.
Unless otherwise requested, use work addresses and phone numbers. For each reference list the name, title, company or organization, company address, and work phone number.
But in resume writing (and blog posts), the numbers are often very important indicators of impact and it is best to use the numerical representation of the number. Rather than writing propelled sales to ten million dollars in just three years try propelled sales to $10M in just 3 years.
Write your number in the correct format The most common practice is to enclose the area code in parentheses and insert a dash after the first three digits of your phone number. Alternatively, you can also separate the number using periods like this: 123.456. 7890.
Create a digital-specific copywriting skills list. If you are writing a digital copywriting resume, ensure your skills list is digital-specific. List the technology and software you are experienced using, and the skills you will need in the digital space, such as SEO expertise or social media analytics expertise.
Unless specifically requested, references do not belong on a resume. It is almost never a good idea to include them. As a rule of thumb, you dont need to include references in your resume.
