How to Copy Text with Comments and Track Changes in Word from One File to Another Open the file that contains the text you want to copy. Select the Review tab in the ribbon. Turn off Track Changes in the Tracking group. Select the Home tab in the ribbon. Select the text you want to copy.
Keyboard shortcuts Select the shape you want to copy formatting from, then press Ctrl+Shift+C. Select the shape you want to copy formatting to, then press Ctrl+Shift+V.
Use Show Markup Select Review Display for Review. Select the option you want: Simple Markup points out where changes are made with a red line in the margin. All Markup shows all edits with different colors of text and lines.
To copy text formatting using keyboard shortcuts: Select the text with the formatting you want to copy. Press Ctrl + Shift + C. Drag over the text to which you want to copy the formatting. Press Ctrl + Shift + V. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for other instances of text.
On the Review tab, select Tracking. Select All Markup for the drop-down list to display.
To Copy/Paste Text with Tracked Changes: In the document in which you wish to paste, click where the text should go. Turn Track Changes off in the document in which you are pasting (if necessary). Press Ctrl + Shift + F3.
Copy and paste with track changes in Word Open the source document that you will copy text with track changes from, and turn off the track changes with clicking Review Track Changes Track Changes. Select the text you will copy, and press Ctrl + C keys together to copy.
Select the cell with the formatting you want to copy. Select Home Format Painter. Drag to select the cell or range you want to apply the formatting to.
Select Paste in the Clipboard group in the ribbon. (Alternately, you can press Ctrl + V on your keyboard or right-click where your cursor is placed and then select Paste from the pop-up menu.) The text with comments and Track Changes edits should now appear in the second file.
Choose Insert Markup. Select Markdown. Type or paste your text - the preview will show you how it will appear on your page. Choose Insert.
