hi guys becca c smith here and today im going to show you how to anchor images in indesign for epub im also going to be doing a tutorial on chapter headings with images as well and anchoring but this tutorial is just for images inside of the text of the book itself its actually very simple which is frustrating because it took me so long to figure out because for some reason whenever i would export the epub all the images would either be at the end of the chapter or really tiny and let me start by saying i am by no means an expert i have learned everything from trial and error and reading a lot of boards its been difficult for me to find youtube tutorials on this specific topic so i hope it helps for for all of you that have had the same difficulty i have had okay so heres i have the chapter i dont have a chapter heading on here because im going to be doing the tutorial later but here is the book weve got a chapter up and lets say we want to do lets do a full size image first

Adding a cover to a book in iBooks Start with a . ... Unzip it. ( ... Save the artwork you want to use as the cover art as a .png file named iTunesArtwork (no extension) Copy that file to the top folder of the epub, replacing any existing file by that name. Rezip the epub. Import it into iBooks.

How to extract text and metadata from EPUB files Click inside the file drop area to upload a EPUB file or drag & drop a EPUB file. Click Get Text and Metadata button to extract text and metadata from your EPUB document. Once your EPUB is processed click on Download Now button.
Locate the book you want to update and click once on it to select it. Then locate the new cover image on your desktop, click on it, and drag it onto the book in the Books app. You will be asked to confirm whether you want to change this book's cover.
All you'll need to do is rename the file from . epub to . zip and unzip the folder. At that point, you should be able to navigate within the folders to find the images and do whatever you like with them.
You can, and it is very simple. The easiest way to add images in ebooks is by using Microsoft Word. Your images can be in color. But depending on what device a reader uses, your images may change to black and white on devices such as Kindles.

Extract images from EPUB files Use eCanCrusher to unzip the EPUB. Open up the unzipped folder. Open the OEBPS folder (this is where all the EPUB content lives) Locate the folder called images. Insert these images into your DOCX file, as required ( Insert > Pictures > Picture from file )
