You never send original documents to the USCIS, except in the rare care, which weve never seen happen, where they ask for it. But they never do, that weve ever seen. So always send a photocopy. Thats all the CIS wants, theyre gonna scan it into their file anyway, and youre never gonna get that original back if you send it in, and you will likely need those originals later. So yeah absolutely, no matter what it is, proof of citizenship, birth certificate, divorce certificate, criminal record, any of that kind of stuff. There are no exceptions.
