Unfortunately, your style cannot be copyrighted; artists are free to make their own works in a style similar to yours, but if they are imitating another artist, they are never going to enjoy the same success.
Images. Unauthorised use of photographs, illustrations, or other visual content without permission or proper citation is a form of plagiarism.
When an artist copies an art work its called an art reproduction or reproduction oil painting or simply replica art. Artists have been copying art since the 15th century with copies of woodblock illustrations.
It would be plagiarism if you take your copied painting and circulate it into the world as if it is your own without noting your purpose and citing the original. INSPIRATION: Every single work of art ever made in the world has been influenced by images and ideas that came before it.
Tracing:Drawing over the original art line by line. Even using just part of the drawing is still tracing. Even if I changed the character to my own or flipped/rotated it, its still tracing. ALWAYS credit the original artist if you trace. Copying:Imitating or drawing similarly to the original art.
By copying photos, you will develop the ability to recognize and reproduce lines, shapes, and tonal values. Such skills would be very useful for a restorer, for example. You may ask: How about copying someone elses artwork? Some art schools advocate such a learning process, especially for beginners.
Xerox art (sometimes, more generically, called copy art, electrostatic art, scanography or xerography) is an art form that began in the 1960s.
Copying another artists work can be a wonderful way to learn, get inspired, get ideas, honor an influence you love, and create something new. All art is a mash up of ideas, and we can all influence and inspire each other, so long as we are creating and sharing from a place of honesty and transparency.
