To type the dot symbol on your keyboard, turn on the numeric keypad by pressing NumLk , hold Alt and press the 0 , 1 , 4 , and 9 keys in succession. If you dont type the numbers with the numeric keypad, the dot symbol will not show.
Tips: You can use a keyboard shortcut to create a bulleted list or a numbered list. To create a bulleted list, type * (asterisk), and then press Spacebar or the Tab key. To create a numbered list, type 1., and then press Spacebar or the Tab key.
Turn lines of text into a bulleted list by selecting the text and then clicking Home Paragraph Bullets. Each line or paragraph becomes a bullet in the list. Tip: Press Enter to move text to its own line, or press Enter twice to end the bulleted list.
Type* and a space before your text, and Word will make a bulleted list. To complete your list, press Enter until the bullets or numbering switch off.
The Unicode character for showing the dot symbol or bullet point is U+2022 . But to use this Unicode correctly, remove the U+ and replace it with ampersand ( ), pound sign ( # ), and x . Then type the 2022 number in, and then add a semi-colon.
Press Alt-7 for the common, rounded and filled bullet that is typical used in most Word documents. Press Alt-9 for a rounded, unfilled bullet. Press Alt-4 for a diamond-shaped bullet. Experiment with the different number combinations, such as Alt-0149, to create other bullets and characters.
Press CTRL + Shift + L. Word will automatically apply bullet points and insert indents to the paragraphs.
How to use? Press and hold the ALT key and type the number of desired symbol. Use unicode bullet symbols in a html document or copy paste the character.
The technique : Keep the Alt key pressed (key just to the left of the Space bar), then you successively type the numbers 0 1 8 3 then you finally release the Alt key, which will bring up the middle dot / median dot at desired location.
