SQL Server Management Studio Copy Database Wizard can be used to copy a database from the production server to the test server. To run it please right-click the database to clone and click Task Copy Database. In the first two steps, you need to set up a connection to the production server and the test server.
Using SQL Server Management Studio, here are the steps: Right-click the database and select Tasks | Backup. Make sure that the Backup type is Full. Click Add and specify the location and backup name. Copy the created backup file to another computer.
To clone a SQL database to a host: Open the App Manager to the Applications list. Right-click the application with the image that you want to clone, then choose Access. Select an image and then select Clone from the list of access operations. Select a target from the Target drop-down list.
Expand Databases, right-click the desired database, point to Tasks, and then select Copy Database If the Welcome to the Copy Database Wizard splash page appears, select Next. Select a Source Server page: Specify the server with the database to move or copy.
Accepted Solutions (1) It depends if you have to do it on a regular basis or just once, what are system restrictions and many other things. Easiest way in case you need it just once is to connect QA and Prod and use BW load. Or if you can move the whole Environment use UJBR.
We need to follow these steps to copy a database to another database: First, use the CREATE DATABASE statement to create a new database. Second, store the data to an SQL file. Third, export all the database objects along with its data to copy using the mysqldump tool and then import this file into the new database.
Open SQL Server Management Studio and follow the steps: Right-click on the database and select Tasks Copy Database Select a source server by entering the source server name. Enter the destination server name and apply the authentication information this time.
