Answer. In Procores WBS, a budget code is used in Procores Project Financials tools to keep track of the costs and revenue for a construction project on your financial line items.
Steps Navigate to the Project level Admin tool. Under Project Settings, click the Work Breakdown Structure link. In the Segments list, click the Cost Codes link. Click the Cost Codes from Company button. In the Add Cost Codes to this Project window, choose from these options: Click the Add button.
Budget Codes are designed as a way to keep track of the budget accounts for your organization. You can identify the appropriate budget code for labor and material transactions and run reports to track those costs.
A Budget Code is a five digit number assigned by OSBM for budgetary reporting. Budget code identifies major fund types and the responsible entity for reporting.
A budget proposal summarizes the estimated costs for an upcoming project in order to secure funding from project stakeholders. Your budget proposal breaks down the cost elements associated with your project. This shows stakeholders the benefits and/or drawbacks of getting involved.
Budget codes are made up of individual segments of information, such as a work classification, sub job, cost type, and more. Cost Management does not have limits on the number of segments that can be used. During the budget setup process, you can define the number of segments for your codes and each segments length.
A program budget defines objectives and relates the proposed level of expenditures to meet those objectives in the given fiscal year. It is not uncommon to find different ways to subdivide programs and program budgets.
Cost codes are the standardized alphanumeric numbers assigned to the specific types of work a company performs. They allow managers to organize expenses into common categories and are a key component to a good work breakdown structure (WBS).
