The PAP sections are: Part A - Liability Coverage, Part B - Medical Payments Coverage, Part C - Uninsured Motorists Coverage, and Part D - Coverage for Damage to Your Auto.
Liability CoveragePart A In the PAP, the liability insuring agreement can be paraphrased as follows: We will pay damages for bodily injury or property damage for which any insured becomes legally responsible because of an auto accident.
Under Part D of the personal auto policy, coverage for damage to your auto generally includes electronic equipment that is permanently installed in the vehicle. Other items like personal effects, media, and business equipment are not typically covered under this part.
The PAP is divided into the following six parts: liability coverage, medical payments coverage, uninsured motorist coverage, physical damage coverage, duties after an accident or loss, and general provisions. Below is an explanation of each part. This is the only portion of auto insurance that is mandatory.
The peril NOT covered under Part D of the Personal Auto Policy is road damage to tires. Part D, also known as comprehensive or other-than-collision coverage, typically covers perils such as theft, vandalism, fire, hail, flood, contact with animals, and natural disasters including riots, floods, and earthquakes.
Medical payments coverage can help with medical expenses associated with an auto accident for you, your passengers and any family members driving the insured vehicle at the time of the accident no matter who is at fault. It typically covers doctor visits, hospital stays, surgery, X-rays and other medical bills.
Part D Coverage For Damage To Your Auto Collision coverage pays for damage to your vehicle due to impact with another vehicle or object. These coverages are not required by law but are important to protect your valuable property. A failure to maintain adequate Part D coverage can be costly.
Purpose of a Contract Counterparts clause A Counterparts clause expressly states that the parties agree that they may only receive a copy signed by the other party. Receipt of a signed copy by party constitutes acceptance of the offer which is represented by the written contract.
