How to Copy and Paste With the Ctrl/Command Key Highlight whatever you plan to copy. Long-press the Ctrl or Command key, and select the C key once. Place the cursor where you want to paste the copied content. Long-press the Ctrl or Command key, and select the V key once to paste the content.
Command-C: copy the selected item to the Clipboard. This also works for files in the Finder. Command-V: paste the contents of the Clipboard into the current document or app.
As above, you need to first select the text or object you want to copy or cut. Then press Command + C to copy, or Command + X to cut. Put the cursor where you want to place the text/object, and paste by pressing Command + V.
Press Command-C on your keyboard to copy the selected item. Or choose Copy from the Edit menu in the menu bar.
How to copy and paste using trackpad gestures? 1 Finger Tap Top Left: copies the selected text (or item) to the clipboard. 1 Finger Tap Top Right: pastes the last content from the clipboard (the one previously selected)
Use the Ctrl key to copy and paste Press the Control (Ctrl) key on your laptop keyboard, and while keeping it pressed down, press the C key. Release both keys. The highlighted text will be copied to your clipboard. Move your cursor to the place youd like to insert the copied text.

Select the text to copy. Choose Edit Copy (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen), or press Command-C. Note: If you want to remove the text from its original location, choose Edit Cut instead.
