This summer, children in the Rio Grande Valley had the opportunity to learn and sharpen their chess skills at a UTRGV summer camp. The camp was led by Grand Master Alex Mistah, who is the highest title a chess player can achieve. Eighteen students attended the camp, participating in tournaments, puzzles, and other activities. They also received assistance from Grandmaster Vladimir Belous. The UTRGV chess team members started as kids in similar camps and are now improving their skills by playing against each other and experienced players.
