The Duty Drawback Scheme provides exporters with a refund of customs duty paid on unused imported goods, or goods that will be treated, processed or incorporated into other goods for export. Application detail: Claims must be lodged within 4 years from the date the goods were exported.
In many cases, you can still receive duty drawback even if you are not importing and exporting. For example, if you buy imported products from a U.S. vendor, then export those goods, STTAS can work with you and your vendor to set up an agreement to claim duty drawback.
Complete Form K32, Drawback Claim, to apply for a drawback and submit it, together with supporting documentation, to the nearest Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) office. Completion instructions are on the back of the form.
