have you ever seen an article or blog post or website that you found really interesting that you might want to share with somebody but you werent really sure how to email the link well for example I want to email this blog post I wrote somebody so Im going to start by highlighting the title so I can paste that into the body of an email if I click and drag my mouse over the title its going to highlight it and I can either press ctrl C on my keyboard Ill right click and click on copy Im now going to go to Outlook compose a new email and in the body Im going to right click and press paste I could have also clicked control V or paste now back to the blog post in the address line Im going to click once and thats going to automatically highlight the URL if it doesnt I can just click and then hold down the left mouse key and drag it across until the entire address is highlighted then I can either press ctrl C on my keyboard or again right click and press copy and Ill go back to my e

To copy the full path of a file or folder on Windows 10, hold Shift and right-click the file or folder, then select Copy as Path from the context menu. Press Ctrl+V (or use the context menu) to paste the path to the file. You may also select a file then click Copy Path in the File Explorer toolbar.
Copy as Path is used to create shortcuts on the desktop and in the Start menu. It is very useful when you want to create shortcuts for files or folders that are located at different locations on your computer.. You can also use this to copy file names into excel.
Copy as path is a new context menu option introduced in Windows 11 by Microsoft. It allows you to copy the full path of files and folders into the clipboard, you can copy this into applications like Command Prompt or Windows PowerShell, or Notepad.
Keyboard Shortcut Press Shift + Right Click as simply click on Copy as path. Press ALT + D. As you can see in the screenshot below, as soon as you press ALT + D, the path will appear, highlighted. Right-click over the highlighted text and select copy.
Double Backslashes (\\) Two backslashes are used as a prefix to a server name (hostname). For example, \\a5\c\expenses is the path to the EXPENSES folder on the C: drive on server A5.
1. How to Copy the File or Folder Path Using the Context Menu Locate the file or folder whose path you want to copy. Press and hold the Shift key, then right-click on your file or folder. Select Copy as path from the context menu.
If you just a want to view a file path, you can just right-click on a file on the desktop or in File Explorer. Then from the menu that appears, youll choose Properties. In the Properties window that appears, youll see the file path next to the word Location.
Copy File Name Open Windows Explorer and click the file to select it. Press F2 on your keyboard to select the name. Press Ctrl-A if you also need to copy the file extension. Press Ctrl-C to copy the file name. Press Enter or click another location to exit the renaming mode.
(Backslash): In Windows operating systems, the backslash is used as a directory separator in file paths. Similar to the forward slash, it is used to separate directories within the path. For example, C:\Users\Username\Documents represents the Documents directory inside the Username directory on the C drive.
