Along with many other awesome features,the toolkit allows us to create and sendpersonalized attachments in multiple formats. Two of those PDF and DOCX can be protected bypasswords and permissions to prevent unauthorizedusers from accessing copying editing and printing sensitive data. Lets take a look at an example. Imagine, we work in a big company and every year weneed to notify our employees about their personalinfo we have on record. Info like: address, phone number, etc. This way the employees will be able to check and email us back if any info needs to beupdated. Obviously each document in this mail merge has to be protected by a unique password. We havea template open in Word and an Excel spreadsheet with the employees information. Note, thatbesides the usual info: name, email, phone, etc., we have an additional column

Select the Word to PDF option from the dropdown menu. Upload the Word document that you want to convert by clicking on the Choose File button. After selecting the file, click on the Convert button to start the conversion process. Wait for the conversion process to complete.
If the file was previously saved, select File Save a Copy. If the file is unsaved, select File Save As. Select Browse to choose the location on your computer where you want to save the file. In the drop-down list, select PDF.
Open the Word doc that you want saved as a PDF. Go to File Save as Select save option as PDF. Select the More options link underneath the file format box, then select the Options button from the box that pops up. Select the Encrypt document with a password option, then enter a password (twice) as prompted.

How to add passwords and permissions to PDF files: Open a file in Acrobat and choose Tools Protect. Select whether you want to restrict editing with a password or encrypt the file with a certificate or password. Set password or security method as desired. Click OK and then click Save.
Create protected PDFs from Office files Confirm that the appropriate sensitivity label is set on the source file and that its been saved. For example: In the appropriate Microsoft 365 app select File Save a Copy. Set the file type to PDF and select Save.
