hello Im Chris Menard Microsoft Excel has a great new feature out for people that share excel files it is called sheet view it is already enabled on excel for the web but it is coming to excel for the desktop where I feel like most people would use it anyway the only reason I have it right now is Im a member of the office insider program which recently became the office theta program June 5th so I have this feature right now sheet view this applies when sorting and filtering take place in an excel file so Im actually going to demonstrate this right now to you so let me close out of whats new so heres what I have setup in excel on the desktop Im signed in right up here it says Chris Menard thats me Carol Ive already shared this file with Carol Martin whos over here on the right hand side and Carol opened this file up on Excel on the web so Carol wherever she clicks Ill know where she is in case youve never shared a file before so if Carol clicks on customer number and a one

You and your colleagues can open and work on the same Excel workbook. This is called co-authoring. When you co-author, you can see each others changes quicklyin a matter of seconds. And with certain versions of Excel, youll see other peoples selections in different colors.
Until now, Excel users have been able to collaborate on shared workbooks, which was already a move forward in productivity and efficiency. However, Co-Authoring in Excel means that multiple users in your organization can now open an Excel workbook without finding it locked because someone else was using it.
Co-author a workbook Select Share. Upload your file to OneDrive, if you havent already. Set permissions and select Apply. Add the names of who to share with, and an optional message. Select Send. Select the initials in the upper right to see who else is working on the file and where they are in the file.
