Some Conditions That Disqualify People From Donating Blood Non-prescription injection drug use. Engaged in sex for money or drugs. Men who have sex with men (MSM) and women who have sex with MSM. Sexual contact with a person who has ever had a positive HIV test.
Both Hma-Qubec (HQ) and Canadian Blood Services (CBS) have indicated that deferral of donors with occupational exposure to non-human primates or their body fluids would have minimum impact on the blood supply. There is no documented health risk that warrants the recall of previously collected products.
