hi everyone my name is kevin today i want to show you how you can collaborate on a word document with other people without needing to send attachments back and forth and this full disclosure before we jump into this i work at microsoft as a full-time employee my hr department requires me to say that now in the past if youve wanted to collaborate on a document with others you needed to send an attachment back and forth and what typically tends to happen is someone might say document one then someone responds with their edits and its document two and maybe someone else had a version of the document document three and then you have to merge them all together and you just end up in this really bad situation of different versions and basically just a versioning mess luckily with microsoft word but also excel and powerpoint you can now work together on a document thats in the cloud and so you could all work on that document in real time what im going to do is im going to show you step

Open a file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides. In the top right corner, click Share. Click Get shareable link in the top right of the Share with others box. To choose whether a person can view, comment, or edit the file, click the Down arrow next to Anyone with the link.
Enable editing in your document Go to File Info. Select Protect document. Select Enable Editing.
Sheets: Share with specific people or using a link Open the file you want to share (that you own or have edit access to). Click Share. Enter the email addresses or groups that you want to share with. Choose what kind of access you want to give people: Editor, Commenter, or Viewer. Click Send.
Select Edit Document Edit in Browser. If anyone else is working on the document, youll see their presence and the changes theyre making. We call this coauthoring, or real-time collaboration. From here, if youd rather work in your Word app, switch from Editing to Open in Desktop App, near the top of the window.
Collaborate in Word Select Share. on the ribbon. Or, select File Share. Note: If your file is not already saved to OneDrive, youll be prompted to upload your file to OneDrive to share it. Select who you want to share with from the drop-down, or enter a name or email address. Add a message (optional) and select Send.
Select the file you want to share. Click Share or Share . Under General access click the Down arrow . Choose Anyone with the link. To decide what role people will have, select Viewer, Commenter, or Editor. Click Copy link. Click Done. Paste the link in an email or any place you want to share it.
To begin, simply go to docs.google.com or by navigating to Google Docs from their Gmail or Google Drive online storage account. General access is free for all.
Use a Dedicated Collaboration Tool Each time they do, a new version is automatically created and changes made between versions are shown. If two people open the document at the same time, Simul will create two versions of the document, tracking each contributors changes in separate versions.
How to share a Google Doc Click New to create a new document or My Drive to select a document from your Drive. Click the Share button. Type in the email addresses of your recipients. Choose an editing permission in the drop-down, click Notify people, type a message, and hit Send.
