The occupied bandwidth measurement is similar to the channel power measurement except that, instead of us specifying the integration bandwidth, we are now asking the analyzer, within what bandwidth is 99% of the power contained? In other words, Agilents PowerSuite automatically calculates and displays the bandwidth of the modulation. We need no prior knowledge of the signal other than its nominal carrier frequency. The occupied bandwidth measurement integrates the power of the displayed spectrum and puts markers at the frequencies between which the selected percentage of the power is contained. The measurement defaults to 99% but can be changed if required. First, it computes the combined power of all signal responses contained in the trace. Then it places markers on either side of the 99% occupied bandwidth values as displayed on the screen. The occupied bandwidth measurement also indicates the difference between the analyzer sender frequency and the sender frequency of the channel
