A binary number system is one of the four types of number system. In computer applications, where binary numbers are represented by only two symbols or digits, i.e. 0 (zero) and 1(one). The binary numbers here are expressed in the base-2 numeral system. For example, (101)2 is a binary number.
The open() function opens a file in text format by default. To open a file in binary format, add b to the mode parameter. Hence the rb mode opens the file in binary format for reading, while the wb mode opens the file in binary format for writing.
After opening the binary file in binary mode, we can use the read() method to read its content into a variable. The read() method will return a sequence of bytes, which represents the binary data. Once we have read the binary data into a variable, we can process it ing to our specific requirements.
Each ASCII character is encoded in binary using 7 bits. In the chart above, the column heading indicates the first 3 bits and the row heading indicates the final 4 bits. The very first character is NUL, encoded as 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .
Uppercase letters start with 010 and lowercase letters start with 011. The letter a is 01100001. From there, count the number of the letter and write that number in binary. For example, the letter d is the fourth letter (100), which is written as 01100100 in binary.
How to convert Text to Binary? Get character. Get ASCII code of character from ASCII table. Convert decimal to binary byte. Continue with next character.
The ASCII code takes each character on the keyboard and assigns it a binary number. For example: the letter a has the binary number 0110 0001 (this is the denary number 97) the letter b has the binary number 0110 0010 (this is the denary number 98)
