Each Tag is an indivisible unit - you cant insert a Tag into another Tag, only before or after a Tag. To delete a single Tag within a cell, select the cell and press Delete, or click on the Delete Tag button.
Click the chart from which you want to remove data labels. This displays the Chart Tools, adding the Design, Layout, and Format tabs. Do one of the following: On the Layout tab, in the Labels group, click Data Labels, and then click None.
To change how Smart Tags look in Excel, go to File Options Smart Tags and click on the Recognizers tab. This page shows a list of Smart Tags that you can use.
