Hiding markdown cells First, you can add the hide-input cell metadata. This triggers the same hiding behavior described above for code cells. This cell was hidden by adding a hide-input tag to it! You may also use a Sphinx directive to hide specific markdown content.
We discussed three methods to remove warning messages in R Markdown documents: using suppressWarnings() function, setting the warnings option to FALSE in YAML metadata, and using the knitr::optschunk$set() function to set global options for all code chunks in the document.
Markdown doesnt provide special syntax for symbols. However, in most cases, you can copy and paste whatever symbol you want to use into your Markdown document. For example, if you need to display Pi (), just find the symbol on a webpage and copy and paste it into your document.
The basic Markdown syntax allows you to create code blocks by indenting lines by four spaces or one tab. If you find that inconvenient, try using fenced code blocks. Depending on your Markdown processor or editor, youll use three backticks ( ``` ) or three tildes ( ~~~ ) on the lines before and after the code block.
In Markdown, you can escape various characters using a backslash ( \ ), so if you wanted to type C#, you would use C\# .
There are two ways to hide content: To hide Markdown, use the {toggle} directive. To hide or remove code cells or their outputs, use notebook cell tags.
To hide a specific code chunk set echo to false ( echo=false ). Include the code chunk in the rendered document with echo=true .
To create inline code, wrap with backticks ` . To create a code block, either indent each line by 4 spaces, or place 3 backticks ``` on a line above and below the code block. A code block or span displays every character inside exactly as it was typed.
