hi this is Gary with macm now on todayamp;#39;s episode letamp;#39;s convert text and PDF files to EPUB format so the iBooks app on both the iPad and the iPhone uses a format called ePub which is this open format thatamp;#39;s great for ebook readers now what makes it different than PDF files or PDF files lay out everything precisely so they look exactly the same no matter where you view them ubamp;#39;s a different animal what it does is is it allows the text to flow depending upon the size of the text the size of the page and all sorts of different factors so you can actually adjust how you read a book and you can read it on different sized screen devices so how do you get one of your files say if you have a text file or PDF file you get it into ug format so that you can view it using iBooks well you have to use a conversion program letamp;#39;s go and take a look at one so while there are many programs that will do this the one Iamp;#39;m going to use is called calibra

You can open and read .EPUB files on both Windows and Mac devices if you download docHub Digital Editions to your computer. Open docHub Digital Editions on your machine. Select File, then Add to Library. Find the saved .EPUB file on your device. Double-click the .EPUB file you want to read.
Once you have downloaded and saved a PDF version of the e-book, you can use docHub Reader to annotate and highlight text. These tools are also called markup which are part of the comment and review features. A basic overview of these features is presented on the docHub Reader Help site page, Share, comment, and review.
Hold the left mouse button and hover over the desired text. When the cursor is released, the text context menu will show up. Click the Add note option from the menu or press Ctrl + N on your keyboard to write a note for the selected text. A new field to which you can enter the body of the text will appear.
Step-by-step guide: How to add a cover image to ePub and Kindle eBooks Place the cover picture youd like to use in your library. Click the top half of the Generate help button in the Home ribbon tab. Select the ePub or Mobi/Kindle build youd like to modify in the build list. Click Generate to publish your eBook.
To create or update a highlight, bring up a context menu at a specific location in an eBook (for updates, the location will be marked as a highlight already) and select the Highlight option. This launches the Highlight dialog, consisting of a toolbar and selection handles.
Editing an EPUB. An EPUB is essentially a ZIP file containing nested folders with XHTML text, images, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), embedded fonts, and metadata files. Almost anyone can edit EPUB files with the help of an eBook editing tool, although some familiarity with hypertext markup language (HTML) is helpful.
For EPUBS you can use the Modify PI (you can select many books and run the PI) to remove the covers, if you then Save to Disk with following settings youll get a coverless EPUB.
Well, there is no standard for annotating ePUBs. So every reader does what its developers deemed nice or feasible or useful or whatever. valente: (Often I prefer to convert epub to pdf and then annotate)
