Use an MSA or gMSA account which have the least allowed permissions of the task it should do. Create a scheduled task which runs with the account, this can be done in PS without even having to specify the password. No password is ever exposed and it will run with the accounts user context.
Try this: #!/usr/bin/env bash. password= character= prompt=Password: echo -n ${prompt} 2. while true; do. read -N 1 -s character. [ ${character} == $\n ] break.
Read-Host -AsSecureString | ConvertFrom-SecureString. Save the output to a txt file, this holds your encrypted password. During execution, get the content of the file and pass to ConvertTo-SecureString to convert it back and use as normal.
Here is a list of ways to store your master password so you dont lose it. Master Password Tip! Put It In A Safe. Tape It To Something Large. Store It In Another Password Manager. Hide It In A Book. Burn It To A CD. Keep A Copy In A Safe Deposit Box. Hide It In Your Car.
One possible workaround is to pass your password at the end of a very long list of command line arguments because there is an 80 character limit to the list of arguments that ps displays BUT that can be patched and the limit depends upon the OS release and can and will change without notice.
Using sshpass Name that file whatever you like, but I would suggest making it hidden by using a period at the beginning of the filename. In that file add the password for the account used in the shell script and save it with the Ctrl-x keyboard shortcut.
You can use the -WindowStyle hidden parameter with PowerShell.exe command.
