Apply a small amount of polish to the scuffed area and use a soft cloth or a shoe brush to spread it evenly. Allow the polish to dry, then buff it with a clean cloth to achieve a polished finish. The polish will cover up the scuff and provide a layer of protection for the leather.
Use a rubbing compound (which costs about $10), also known as scratch repair. Apply it with a microfiber cloth, and use circular motions to buff until you cant see the scratch any longer. Polish it. Polish the area with car polish (which costs about $15), using circular motions.
Saphir Cream Polish is great for repairing and concealing most superficial damage to shoes. Minor scuffing or scratching can normally be fixed with a few extra coats of Saphir Cream Polish. However, sometimes shoe polish is not enough to repair or conceal deep gouges or scratches.
Simply take a small amount of vaseline and rub it over the scuff marks with your fingers. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, and then wipe off the excess jelly with a damp cloth. This method is suitable for leather and canvas shoes as well as patent leather but should not be used on suede or other delicate materials.
If conditioning alone doesnt eliminate the scuffs, polishing may be able to finish the job. Whereas conditioner focuses on maintaining leathers softness and texture, polishing is more focused on leathers appearance. It adds a shine to the outside surface. For fixing scuffs, use a colored polish.
In that case, you can probably get away with using a polishing or waxing product. These products will fill in the scratch and make it less visible. However, they will not remove the scratch completely. If you have a deep scratch, you may need to use a more abrasive method, such as sanding or buffing.
Dab white vinegar on light scuffs before polishing to hide them. Use a cotton ball or cotton swab to dab white vinegar onto the scuffed areas. Let it dry completely, then polish the shoes with a colorless shoe polish.
