Baking soda: A baking soda paste can be used to buff out slightly deeper scratches that dont disappear with the use of toothpaste. Sandpaper: Micro-grit sandpaper is the easiest option to polish out deep scratches from plastic. It works best when dampened, to prevent further damage to the item.
If the scratch is deep, youll need to use an abrasive material to remove it. The type of product youll need will depend on the severity of the scratch. For light scratches, you can use a rubbing compound. For deeper scratches, you may need to use sandpaper or a drill-mounted buffer.
Step 1: Clean the Area. Start by cleaning the scratched area with soap and water to remove any dirt or debris. Step 2: Sand the Scratch. Begin sanding the scratch with the coarsest sandpaper (200 grit), using gentle, circular motions. Step 3: Apply Heat (Optional) Step 4: Polish.
