Removing Stains from Patent Leather Shoes First, use a soft cloth and warm water to remove dust or dirt. Then, if there is a stubborn stain, make a paste with baking soda and water and gently apply it using a dry, soft cloth. Leave for 5 minutes before wiping off with a damp cloth.

For Stains You can also try using a magic eraser sponge in addition to the regular cleaning process. If you decide to go this route, be sure to test a small, less noticeable patch of patent leather first, as certain variations can lose their finish with anything more aggressive than a soft cloth.
Cream polish is the best choice for repairing major scuffs and scratches on your shoes because it does a better job of nourishing, conditioning, renovating, and coloring the leather than wax polish does.

If conditioning alone doesnt eliminate the scuffs, polishing may be able to finish the job. Whereas conditioner focuses on maintaining leathers softness and texture, polishing is more focused on leathers appearance. It adds a shine to the outside surface. For fixing scuffs, use a colored polish.
How do you get scuff marks off patent leather? First, try rubbing them with a microfiber cloth, terry towel, or gum eraser, whichever is handiest. For marks that are more resistant, dab with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol, then wipe with an absorbent cloth.
A pencil eraser works great for simple scuffs because the eraser itself is soft enough that it wont damage the leather. Apply moderate pressure and work the eraser across the scuff to remove the added material.
